Angel Lalama is an immigration lawyer in Los Angeles who established Lalama Immigration Law to serve the immigrant community throughout the United States and abroad with high-quality legal representation with a customer service-focused approach.
Angel’s experience with immigration law began in 2013, when he represented victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and persons in ICE custody, as a law clerk with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and his law school’s Immigration Clinic. It was through these experiences that Angel recognized the need in his community for zealous advocacy.
Angel's Story
Angel was raised by his parents who came to the United States from Ecuador in the late 1970s. After living in the shadows for many years, Angel’s parents were able to obtain legal status through the amnesty program and later became U.S Citizens.
In pursuit of the “American dream”, Angel’s father worked in construction and his mother cleaned houses. It is because of his upbringing that Angel can now bring to every one of his cases a unique understanding of the many obstacles faced by immigrants in this country, whether it is a recent arrival fleeing their home country, someone living in the United States for decades without any legal status, or a foreign-born worker looking for employment opportunities in the U.S.
Since attaining his law license in 2014, Angel has successfully represented hundreds of clients in family & employment-based immigration, waivers, naturalization, U Visas, VAWA, DACA, and in immigration courts throughout the United States, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, New York, among others. Angel is now considered one of the best immigration lawyers in California and nationwide.
Angel speaks Spanish and English and represents people all over the United States and abroad. He is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA), National Lawyers Guild (NLG), and the Mexican American Bar Association (MABA).
He has been admitted to the State Bar of California, the United States District Court of California Central District, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
